Gau Sha - Chinese: 刮痧 or VietNamese: Cạo Gió

Gua sha is the very first traditional medical healing technique from China.  Sometimes called ‘scraping, coining, or spooning'.  Gau Sha is using a tool repeat scraping an area with Chinese oil and medium pressure until the 'Sha' appear on the skin.  There comes the Cupping which Chinese medicine doctors invents due to it looks way glamorous, and does not look or feel much pains.

Gau is scraping using tool such as spoon, any coin, or water buffalo horn.  What is Sha? Now, this IS interesting!  If the Sha is fresh and intense red,  it means the condition is acute and has not yet penetrate deep into the body.  If the Sha is black or purple, it indicates blood stagnation which means the condition has been long standing.  If the Sha is dark deep red, it indicated heat in the body.  And finally if the Sha is very light in colour, it indicated a deficiency of blood.  If the Sha is pink, it means there is no fever, stagnation, or blood stasis.  One last thing i need to mention is that, after the Gau Sha treatment, some patient might have a fever for the treatment is help to release toxic or any unwanted blood stagnation.

Why you should try Gua Sha?

Gua Sha has the ability to break up stagnation, to promote the smooth flow of blood in the area, thereby relieving pain; acute and chronic.  Gau Sha also helps relief high fever, respiration, tension in muscles, immunoprotected benefits, and much more.

After Gau Sha treatment, the patient usually feel lighter, a shift, or release especially pain(s) area.
